연비 과장으로 산업통상자원부로부터 과징금을 부과받은 BMW코리아 등 수입차 업체들이 한달째 대응 방식을 두고 고심하고 있다. 3일 수입차업계에 따르면 BMW코리아와, 아우디코리아, 폭스바겐코리아, 크라이슬러코리아는 지난달 7일 산업부로부터 300만~400만원의 과징금을 받았다. 해당차량은 미니(MINI) 컨트리맨과 아우디 A4 2.0 TDI, 폭스바겐 티구안 2.0 TDI, 크라이슬러 지프 그랜드체로키로 이들은 산업부가 2013년 실시한 연비 사후관리 조사를 위한 측정에서 허용오차범위 5%를 초과해 연비과장 판정을 받았다.
